京都・鞍馬の地で採れる希少な「本鞍馬石」を使用した、伝統的な関守石（せきもりいし）です。



関守石は、庭園や茶道に受け継がれてきた、境界を示す“しるし”の石です。
道の分かれ目などに据え、「これより先はご遠慮ください」と静かに伝える役割を担ってきました。
空間の調和を乱すことなく、見る人にそっと意図を伝える。その佇まいには、日本ならではの美意識と繊細な心遣いが宿ります。



棕櫚縄（しゅろなわ）は職人により手作業で丁寧に結ばれています。
十字に掛けられた棕櫚縄と石の自然な風合いが調和し、静けさの中に凛とした美を感じさせます。



京都府産の花崗岩、鞍馬石
鞍馬石は全国的な知名度を誇る京都の銘石です。
加茂七石の一つとして京都の庭園文化に深く根付いている石材です。
鞍馬から産出する本鞍馬石、丹波地方より産出する丹波鞍馬石、山梨県産の甲州鞍馬石に大別され、ISHIMOでは本鞍馬石を使用しています。
硬質で濃い茶褐色の落ち着いた色合いと、ゴツゴツした石肌が特徴です。
内部は白っぽい色をしていますが、表面は石に含まれる鉄分が酸化して鉄錆色に変化します。

古くから日本の庭園に使われる石材で、わびさびを表現するのに重要な役割を果たしてきました。
主には自然石の形のまま沓脱石・飛び石に使用したり、加工を施して手水鉢・記念碑などに使われます。

This traditional Sekimori stone is made from rare "hon-Kurama stone" mined in Kurama, Kyoto.

Sekimori-ishi is a small stone with a quiet presence, long used in Japanese gardens and tea ceremony culture to mark subtle boundaries.
Placed at a path’s fork or entrance, it gently says, “Please refrain from entering,” without a single word.
Its unobtrusive form conveys intent without disturbing the harmony of the space, and it an embodies Japanese sensitivity and aesthetic.

The palm ropes are carefully tied by hand by artisans.
The cross-shaped palm ropes harmonize with the natural texture of the stone, creating a sense of dignified beauty in the midst of tranquility.

Granite, Kurama stone from Kyoto Prefecture
Kurama stone is a famous stone of Kyoto that is known nationwide.
This stone is one of the seven stones of Kamo, and is deeply rooted in Kyoto's garden culture.
It can be broadly divided into genuine Kurama stones produced from Kurama, Tanba Kurama stones produced from the Tamba region, and Koshu Kurama stones produced from Yamanashi Prefecture, and ISHIMO uses genuine Kurama stones.
It is characterized by its hard, dark brownish, calm shade and rough stone finish.
The interior has a whitish color, but the iron contained in the stone oxidizes and changes to iron rust on the surface.

This stone has been used in Japanese gardens since ancient times and has played an important role in expressing wabi-sabi.
It is mainly used in the shape of natural stones for slurping stones and stepping stones, or processed to use it as hand basins and monuments.
