京都府産鞍馬石を使用
鞍馬石は全国的な知名度を誇る京都の銘石です。加茂七石の一つとして京都の庭園文化に深く根付いている石材です。
鞍馬から産出する本鞍馬石、丹波地方より産出する丹波鞍馬石、山梨県産の甲州鞍馬石に大別されます。
硬質で濃い茶褐色の落ち着いた色合いと、ゴツゴツした石肌が特徴です。内部は白っぽい色をしていますが、表面は石に含まれる鉄分が酸化して鉄錆色に変化します。
古くから日本の庭園に使われる石材で、わびさびを表現するのに重要な役割を果たしてきました。主には自然石の形のまま沓脱石・飛び石に使用したり、加工を施して手水鉢・記念碑などに使われます。

Kurama stone is a famous stone from Kyoto that is well known throughout the country. As one of the Seven Kamo Stones, it is a stone material that is deeply rooted in Kyoto's garden culture.
It is broadly divided into Hon-Kurama stone produced in Kurama, Tamba-Kurama stone produced in the Tamba region, and Koshu-Kurama stone produced in Yamanashi Prefecture.
It is characterized by its hard, calm dark brown color and rough stone surface. The inside is whitish in color, but the iron contained in the stone oxidizes and turns the surface an iron rust color.
It has been used in Japanese gardens since ancient times and has played an important role in expressing wabi-sabi. It is mainly used in its natural form as a shoe removal stone or stepping stone, or processed and used for hand washing basins and monuments.
