白御影石で彫られた舟形の「不動明王」
石質が硬く、風化に強く耐久性に優れた白御影石なので、お庭など野外にも置いていただけます。
雨風にさらされることで、石に古色がつき、わびさびを感じる趣になります。
御影石は目が細かい石なので、細かい加工に優れています。仏像の表情や装飾品も細やかに表現されています。
不動明王は、大日如来の化身とされる密教の仏様で、「煩悩や迷いを断ち切り、どんな人でも仏の道へと導きたい」という強い慈悲と決意を持つ存在です。
五大明王の中心的な存在で、密教の守護神として信仰されています。その表情は「忿怒（ふんぬ）の相」と呼ばれる怒りの表情で、人々の迷いや悪を断ち切る強い意志を象徴しています。両目は「天地眼（てんちがん）」とされ、天と地のすみずみまでを見守っていると伝えられます。
