岬型をモデルとしたミニ灯篭



岬型（みさきがた）はその名の通り、岬にある灯台を模した灯篭です。三大置燈籠の一つで、本歌は京都の桂離宮にあることで有名です。
既存の岬型灯篭よりも笠をコンパクトにすることで、ミニサイズの可愛らしさが引き立つようデザインされています。
笠と火袋と台の3部材で構成されており、重さ4.5kgと女性一人でも移動ができるため、ご家庭でも使いやすいサイズになっています。


国産みかげ石の代表格、茨城県産真壁石を使用

真壁石は、茨城県桜井市真壁地区で採石される花崗岩です。この一帯は古くから良質な花崗岩の産地として知られ、明治までは「常陸小みかげ」と呼ばれていました。赤坂離宮にも使用されている石材で、関東地区を中心に、国産みかげの代表として知られています。青みを帯びた優しい色目が特徴で、経年により青みが一層増してきます。風化しにくいながらも、使うほどに味が出てくるのが、真壁石の魅力です。吸水率は低くはありませんが、水はけが良く、美しい石目が長年お楽しみいただけます。

伝統工芸士による手彫りの逸品



彫刻を施したのは、茨城県で活躍する、伝統工芸士。石仏や石灯籠の彫刻に長けた地元の職人が、一つ一つ手彫りで仕上げました。真壁石は、コブ出し、ビシャン、小叩きといった、磨かない加工の方が、石本来の魅力がでると言われています。こちらの彫刻品も細やかなビシャンを施し、和風な庭園などに調和しやすい、自然石風に仕上げています。

Makabe Stone: The excellent carving stone from Ibaraki Prefecture.

Each piece is entirely handmade and unique. We have prepared mini-sized Makabe Stone lanterns, designated as a national traditional craft, using beautiful carving stone from Ibaraki Prefecture. These lanterns are easy to incorporate into small gardens and interiors, showcasing the beauty of Makabe Stone, a representative Japanese granite, and the meticulous craftsmanship of traditional artisans.



About Misaki style lantern

Misaki-gata, as the name suggests, is a lantern modeled after a lighthouse found on capes. It is one of the three major lantern styles. Designed to enhance the cuteness of its mini size, the Misaki-gata lantern features a compact top (Kasa), distinguishing it from traditional cape-style lanterns.

It is composed of three parts: the top (Kasa), the lantern body (Hibukuro), and the base (Dai), weighing 4.5 kg, making it easy to move and ideal for home use.

Ibaraki Stone, Domestically Produced Granite

Makabe stone is granite quarried in the Makabe district of Sakurai City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This area has long been known as a source of high-quality granite, and was known as "Hitachi Ko Mikage" until the Meiji period. It is the stone material used in Akasaka Imperial Villa, and is known as a representative of domestically produced Mikage, especially in the Kanto region. It is characterized by a gentle bluish color that deepens with age. The appeal of Makabe stone is that it is resistant to weathering, but develops a unique character the more it is used. Although it does not absorb water easily, it has good drainage and the beautiful stone grain can be enjoyed for many years.

An Exquisite Hand-Carved Piece by Traditional Craftsmen

These stone carvings are done by traditional craftsmen active in Ibaraki Prefecture. Local artisans skilled in carving stone Buddhas and stone lanterns meticulously finished each piece by hand. Makabe stone is said to best reveal its natural charm through processes such as cobbling and small pounding, rather than polishing. These carvings feature delicate cobbling, giving them a natural stone-like finish that harmonizes well with Japanese-style gardens.
