さまざまな彫刻が美しい春日型灯篭
恐らく世の中で一番多い形の灯篭です。さまざまな彫刻が美しく、鹿や、雲と日（丸くくり抜かれた部分）、三笠山の山、透かし格子、波などが刻まれています。伊勢神宮、石清水八幡宮と共に、日本三社と言われる春日大社に本歌がある灯篭です。
苔がのりやすく、お庭に馴染む愛知県産夏山石
日本で最も石彫刻が盛んな、愛知県岡崎市で古くから親しまれている、白御影石。岡崎市の夏山地区で産出されることから、夏山石（なつやまいし）と呼ばれています。
石質は御影石の中では柔らかく粘りがあるので、細やかな彫刻がしやすく、中部地方の灯篭や石仏によく使用されています。大きく長い形状でも採れるため、鳥居や石碑などにも使用されています。水を吸いやすいとされていますが、灯篭においては苔などがのりやすいので、庭に馴染み、石の風合いが出やすいのも特徴です。
経済産業大臣指定伝統的工芸品
こちらの灯篭は伝統的工芸品に指定されています。
伝統的工芸品はその地域から産出される素材を元に、伝統的な技法と匠の技をもって作られている工芸品の事を指します。経済産業大臣が指定した技術・技法・原材料で制作され、産地検査に合格した製品にのみ「伝統証紙」を貼ることができます。
伝統的工芸品として認定されるためには5つの条件があります。

●100年以上前から続いている伝統的な技術や技法

Kasuga Lantern
A world-renowned lantern style made of granite, which boasts a variety of intricate carvings. Crafted by traditional stonemason, it features depictions of deer, clouds surrounding the sun, Nara prefecture`s Misaka Mountain, lattice patterns, and gentle waves. This lantern has its origins at Kasuga Taisha Shrine, one of the three great shrines of Japan, along with Ise Grand Shrine and Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine.
Using the Representative Aichi Stone, Domestically Produced Granite
In Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, known for its thriving stone carving industry, the highly esteemed white granite stone has been cherished since ancient times. Due to its extraction in the Natsumaya district of Okazaki City, it is commonly referred to as Natsumaya stone.
The stone quality of Natsuyama-ishi is soft and has a sticky texture among granite stones, making it suitable for delicate carving. It is commonly used for lanterns and stone Buddhas in the Chubu region. It can also be quarried in large, elongated shapes, thus it is used for torii gates and stone monuments. Although it is known to absorb water easily, it tends to attract moss on lanterns, making it blend well in gardens and highlighting the stone's natural texture as a distinctive feature.
The Traditional Craft Product by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
This lantern is designated as a traditional craft product.
Traditional craft product refers to items created using traditional techniques and master craftsmanship, based on materials produced in the region. These are designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and only products that pass local inspections are eligible to bear a "Traditional Craft Product Mark".
There are five conditions for certification as traditional craft product:
・Enhances richness and moisture to daily life
・Crafted by artisans
・Utilizes traditional techniques or methods dating back over 100 years
・Uses materials traditionally employed for over 100 years
・Produced within a certain region and maintains a certain scale
