It can be unsettling if you don't take some measures to protect your home or business from the kimon and ura-kimon. However, you don't want to ruin the atmosphere of the space with obvious warding off evil spirits. The kimon-warding corner stone, which follows Kyoto customs, has a classic and sophisticated design that won't interfere with the atmosphere of the space.
The custom of surrounding one corner of the Kimon (northeast, the direction of the Ox and Tiger) with a square of stones and scattering white jade stones is very popular in Kyoto. Since the popularity of Onmyodo during the Heian period, this tradition has taken root among people as a way to ward off evil, similar to planting nandina and bamboo. You can still see them in many townhouses, shops, and apartments when walking around Kyoto.
"We want people to be able to enjoy Kyoto's traditional customs in an easy-to-use way."
With this desire in mind, our staff created the Kimon-warding Square Stones.
We have received orders from many people from all over Japan,
and they are also chosen as gifts for housewarmings and store openings.
Placing a Kimon-warding Corner Stone is a simple and elegant way to ward off evil spirits. It can also be used at the back of the Kimon. It measures 30cm square and weighs less than 15kg, making it easily movable even after installation. The weather-resistant stone can be used indoors or outdoors. Its simple design blends well with modern spaces, as well as traditional Japanese architecture.
The Kimon-warding Corner Stone is not just for placing. By "keeping the Kimon pure with white jade and granite," you can enjoy a spiritually purifying experience through the traditional method of warding off evil spirits. Simply remove the granite from its dedicated box, decide on its placement, and carefully place the white jade stone inside. The heavy weight of the surrounding stones, the cool sensation, and the sacred white jade stone... Enjoy a dialogue with the stones that is rarely experienced in everyday life.
